Simple, delicious and moist cake with creamy frosting. This is for chocolate lovers out there. It’s a great every-day cake that is quick to make and so chocolatey. I love sheet cakes – they’re a nice tradition, tasty, easy to make and there is always enough for everyone!
Prep time: 20 mins – Cook time: 30 mins – Total time: 50 mins
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ½ cups cocoa
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ cups buttermilk
- 1 ½ cups hot water
- ½ cup oil

9*13 inch or 23 * 33 cm baking pan, lined with parchment paper or buttered and floured |
Spatula or knife |

How to…..
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/176 degrees Celsius.
Mix all the dry ingredients. Then add the wet ingredients and mix with a handheld electric whisk. Pour into a 9 * 13 inch / 23 * 33 cm baking pan. Bake for 30 mins. Let the cake cool completely.
Now make the frosting.
Once the cake is cool, spread the chocolate buttercream frosting all over it using a spatula (or knife if you don’t have a spatula). You can sprinkle any decorations on top.
