Whoever thought of combining cream cheese and chocolate is my hero. Could you possibly think of two more delish ingredients to mix together. I find chocolate balls so perfect for get together with friends…you’ll just keep taking these little bites as you catch up on all the gossip – how fun is that?
Prep time: 15 mins – Chilling time: 60 -120 mins in the fridge or 20 mins in the freezer.
Ingredients:
- 18 Oreos
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 200 grams chocolate, melted
- Sprinkles to decorate, optional
Equipment:
Medium bowl |
Baking sheet |
Scale |
Food processor or rolling pin and 2 ziploc bags |
Toothpick or Lollipop Stick (or fork and spoon) |
How to…..
Crush the oreos with their cream in a food processor by pulsing them several times. If you don’t have a food processor, put them in a bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. Make sure they’re crushed well because you don’t want big chunks in the chocolate balls.
Put the crushed oreos in the bowl and add the cream cheese. Mix them well with your hand or a spoon. Then shape them into balls and place them on the baking sheet. Chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours or in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Melt the chocolate. Stick a toothpick or lollipop stick into the oreo ball and dip it into the chocolate. Roll it around so its covered. Using another toothpick push the oreo ball off the stick onto the serving plate. Alternatively, place the oreo ball on a fork and using a spoon pour the melted chocolate over it. Then put on the serving plate. Decorate with sprinkles (or not). Keep them in the fridge so the chocolate hardens. Then they’re ready to serve.
